The Antonian High School alum made her debut for the Portland Thorns

The Antonian Apaches softball team and the Central Catholic Buttons baseball team are each poised for Championship Tuesday.

Over the weekend, longtime San Antonio head coach Rudy Bernal announced his retirement after spending 31 years with the Lanier High School boys’ basketball team and almost a decade at Antonian High School.

The top players in the greater San Antonio area have been carefully selected to be a part of the second annual San Antonio Sports All-Star Basketball Game set for March 23.

She’s been named first team all-district and academic all-state as well as holds the school record for goals scored by a freshman with 15. I’ve had a lot more flexibility in my schedule and that has been really beneficial to me with going to the gym and just getting a lot more done.”WHAT MEMORIES DO YOU HAVE LEAVING HIGH SCHOOL SOON? SAN ANTONIO Former TLU head football coach Danny Padron is back on the practice field at Antonian high school, leading the Apaches through workouts in preparation for the upcoming season.

SAN ANTONIO Brandon Beckel made his commitment to attend Texas Tech last June after receiving attention at the area code tryouts a showcase for top prep talent with MLB scouts and NCAA coaches in attendance. Although Beckels senior season was cut short, he was still able to compile impressive numbers: 63 strikeouts and 10 hits allowed in 29 innings. His junior year he was a 1st Team All-District Selection and an All-State Honorable Mention.

SAN ANTONIO – Defensive lineman Devin Grant and wide receiver Daniel Jackson will represent the San Antonio area in the All-American Bowl Saturday afternoon, and both are thrilled for the opportunity to play for the West team. Meanwhile, longtime Alamo Heights coach Mike Norment is part of the West team’s coaching staff. After 24 years of coaching with the Mules as both a head coach and assistant, Norment has announced his retirement.

SAN ANTONIO – Antonian defensive lineman Devin Grant received his All-American Bowl jersey Thursday afternoon in front of teammates, classmates, faculty, family and friends. Teammate Khalil Warfield was honored at the same reception for an invitation to the San Antonio Sports All-Star Game. The Apaches will open the playoffs on Saturday at 2 p.m. against Argyle.
