At least three suspects are being sought in connection with the shooting. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office put out an advisory for this suspect involved in the shooting of a Balcones Heights police officer. “My hat is off to that secondary officer,” Salazar said.

The search is taking place in the 2800 block of Hillcrest Drive, not far from Loop 410 and Babcock Road. According to police, a woman was headed to her apartment with her boyfriend when they were approached by the suspect. Thats when, police say, an argument between the boyfriend and the suspect ensued, with the man being stabbed in both the abdomen and thigh. Authorities early Monday blocked off the entrance and the road leading up to the Trio Apartments on Hillcrest Drive.
