Alamo officials said those interested can learn more about the history of the Alamo Battle Cannons, along with the research and the process of creating the replicas. The virtual event will be held via Zoom at 6 p.m. and tickets can be purchased for $10 per connection. This virtual event will be a special opportunity to learn about the exciting research about the cannons, from historical accounts to conservation efforts.โ

Thatโs right - on this day in 1836, Antonio de Padua Marรญa Severino Lรณpez de Santa Anna y Pรฉrez de Lebrรณn - aka general Santa Anna was making his way to the Alamo with about 4000 soldiers. Santa Annaโs army overpowered the outnumbered Alamo defenders, and the siege ended with a majority of the volunteers deceased. After Santa Annaโs victory - the Alamo became occupied by Mexican forces as Santa Anna marched to what is today Houston. General Santa Anna lost the battle near San Jacinto that day - was captured - and came to terms to end the war.
