Read full article: Olympic hopefuls take important steps as U.S. Open concludesUSA Swimmingās nationwide U.S. Open concluded in the Alamo City on Saturday morning with 10 events, five each for both men and women across two separate sessions. Cox ran away from the field and posted a 2:27.55, the fastest time in the country by a full second. āIt definitely felt like a morning swim," Cox said. It was a really great race there, and I was just happy to be in there with them and compete. Although their times were officially recorded as exhibition swims, the experience each garnered will prove invaluable for this season and beyond.

Overall, Iām happy with it.āLonghorns teammates Coby Carrozza (3:54.34) and Daniel Krueger (23.25) won the 400 meter Freestyle and 50 meter Freestyle respectively. Thereās someone up there, and more than that, Iām just thankful to have [Texas womenās head coach] Carol [Capitani] cheering me on. ā[The 400 meter Freestyle] was a pretty painful swim to be honest, tough to get through.
