The first open-air KSAT Pigskin Classic on Thursday night had the atmosphere of a December playoff game inside the Alamodome.

Thousands of football fans packed the Pieper Warrior Coliseum on Aug. 29 for the third annual KSAT Pigskin Classic to kick off high school football season.

This year's KSAT Pigskin Classic game is also a Peanut Butter Bowl, and food pantries say donations go a long way.

KSAT12 is thrilled to showcase San Antonio and South Texas with the third annual KSAT Pigskin Classic at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2024, as the Boerne Greyhounds take on the Pieper Warriors at Pieper Warrior Coliseum.

The Greyhounds scratched and clawed to draw even with Corpus Christi Calallen in Game 2, but the Wildcats ended Boerne's season in dramatic fashion.

The Greyhounds were able to get the first run of the game but had trouble with the Calallen pitchers the rest of the way.

The Greyhounds posed for pictures with their rally turtle after defeating Bishop 1-0 in Game 2 of a UIL Class 4A regional semifinals series.

KSAT 12 is set to broadcast a UIL Class 4A Division I State Quarterfinal playoff game between Boerne and Calallen this Friday at Alamo Stadium.

On Thursday afternoon, the Boerne Greyhounds held their final practice prior to competing in Saturday's UIL Class 4A State Championship Game against Fort Worth Diamond Hill Jarvis. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown.
