A man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle early Monday morning on the Northwest Side.

During early afternoon calls, San Antonio fire crews faced a dangerous combination -- the heat from the flames and the brutally humid weather conditions.

A 2-alarm fire has destroyed a long-standing restaurant in Leon Springs overnight, the San Antonio Fire Department said.

The scheduled closures are part of the the department’s I-10 expansion project. The closures will allow crews to install digital message boards. The closures will begin on Tuesday and end by early Thursday, according to a news release from the department. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area until the roads are open again.

The eastbound main lanes of Interstate 10 will be closed at Boerne Stage Road Saturday as Texas Department of Transportation crews work on a bridge expansion project there. The closure will start at 4 a.m. and is expected to be in place until 9 p.m. Drivers on eastbound I-10 will be forced to exit at Ralph Fair Road and continue on the frontage road until the I-10 entrance ramp past Boerne Stage Road.
