SAN ANTONIO – A motorcyclist killed in a crash Sunday on the city’s Northeast Side has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office. Chadwick Short, 35, was killed while driving his motorcycle on FM 78. According to police, he t-boned a four-door sedan that was driving out of a private property parking lot. Authorities said they’s unsure how each driver didn’t see the other, but no charges have been filed in the crash as of yet. Short was taken to the Brooke Army Medical Center, where he later died.

SAN ANTONIO – A 40-year-old man was taken to an area hospital after being hit by a car late Tuesday night, San Antonio police said. The crash happened around 11 p.m. on Highway 87, not far from Loop 410 on the city’s East Side. According to police, the man was attempting to cross the street but was not in a crosswalk when he was struck by a red sedan. The man was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he is expected to recover. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.

BALCONES HEIGHTS, Texas – A sergeant with the Balcones Heights Police Department was critically wounded after he was shot Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of an apartment complex, officials said. Joey Sepulveda was undergoing surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center for wounds in the neck and shoulder, Balcones Heights Mayor Suzanne DeLeon said. At least three suspects are being sought in connection with the shooting. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office put out an advisory for this suspect involved in the shooting of a Balcones Heights police officer. “My hat is off to that secondary officer,” Salazar said.

SAN ANTONIO – A bicyclist was hit by a sedan while trying to cross a street on the city’s Northeast Side late Monday night, San Antonio police said. According to police, the bicyclist, a man in his 50s, was crossing the street against the light when he was struck by a sedan heading westbound on Walzem Road. Police said the driver of the sedan did stop to render aid and will not be facing any charges. The bicyclist was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition. The San Antonio Police Department, the Windcrest Police Department, the Windcrest Fire Department and EMS all answered the call.

SAN ANTONIO – Medical professionals from the Brooke Army Medical Center will be partnering with University Hospital to provide some relief in their COVID-19 treatment efforts. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office previously arrested another suspect in the case, 17-year-old Jaylen Dears, on Dec. 24. Dears was also charged with capital murder, jail records show. Jaylen Dears, 17, was arrested on suspicion of capital murder on Dec. 24, 2020. The witnesses told deputies they heard one of the two suspects say “naw (expletive) this is a homicide” before opening fire, deputies said. Jail records show Miller was booked on Thursday and his bond was set at $500,000.

SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead following a shooting on the city’s East Side late Monday night, San Antonio police said. According to police, officers arrived to find the man -- identified as 51-year-old Dietric Van Harrington Jr. -- with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. SAN ANTONIO – A man accused of fatally shooting a person while he was “high on acid” has been arrested, according to Live Oak police. According to an arrest affidavit, a witness called the police after he heard gunshots and found an injured man lying on the floor inside an apartment unit. Near him, officers found a Taurus 9mm handgun, along with a spent 9mm casing and a live 9mm bullet. The affidavit states that police contacted the apartment complex’s office, who said Woods was renting the apartment but was subleasing it to other people. The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office said Jose Ortega was killed early Wednesday. Officers were called around 2:15 a.m. to the 200 block of Remolino Street, not far from Cupples Road and Highway 90 after receiving reports of a shooting. SAN ANTONIO – The first batches of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine began arriving Monday at JBSA-Lackland. Lackland and Brooke Army Medical Center were among the first military installations in the country to receive the vaccine according to Air Force Maj. Gen. John DeGoes, Commander of the 59th Medical Wing at Lackland. ”We’re going to do everything possible to put shots in arms as quickly as possible,” DeGoes said Tuesday. SAN ANTONIO – A driver who San Antonio police say fatally struck a man as he was crossing the street has been arrested. Sergio Vasquez, 50, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter following the accident at 5 p.m. Sunday, in the 13400 block of Nacogdoches Road on the North Side. According to police, Vasquez was driving a 1993 Ford Econoline van southbound on Nacogdoches Road when he ran a red light at the intersection with El Charro Street. The pedestrian, a man who has not been identified, was crossing Nacogdoches Road at the time and was struck by the van. The pedestrian was walking within a crosswalk and had the right of way.

SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead after being struck by a vehicle while trying to cross a street on the Northeast Side, according to San Antonio police. SAN ANTONIO – Two military hospitals in San Antonio are participating in COVID-19 vaccine trials, and approximately 100 people are already taking part in the study. SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are trying to track down the person who shot a man as he stood outside a Southeast Side bar. They found a man with a gunshot wound in his chest outside the bar, and shell casings in the street nearby. Police say witnesses reported seeing someone in a blue pickup fire the shots after 11 p.m.Officers searched the area, but did not find the truck. They weren’t able to say right away whether the shooting appeared to be random or if the victim may have been targeted. The man who was shot is expected to be OK.Police say he was stable as he left for a hospital in an ambulance.
