A woman is dead after first responders found her with two gunshot wounds to the back of her head moments after crashing her car, according to San Antonio police.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – The battle over bullets seems to be on hold for now for a south Bexar County neighborhood. Neighbors in the Buena Vista neighborhood said they have been dodging bullets since the shooting range at 281 Country Club went up several years ago. On Monday, KSAT learned he’s decided to keep the shooting range closed until he gets accreditation from the National Rifle Association, even though he says it’s not needed. Meanwhile, the Bexar County Fire Marshal’s Office is involved in making sure any structures used by the business comply with state rules.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating after a man was stabbed in the back late Monday night. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of South Rosillo Street and Buena Vista Street, just west of downtown. Officers searching the area couldn’t find a crime scene on Commerce Street near 29th Street, or find a potential suspect. The wounded man was taken by EMS to University Hospital in critical condition. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all answered the call.

Later next year, San Antonio’s West Side could include the Buena Vista Historical District. Until then, opinions differ over whether having a historical designation would be good for a community that’s already seeing developers buying up properties just west of downtown. A city spokeswoman said a historical district designation could make that more difficult, involving approval by the Historic and Design Review Commission. If 51% support is not reached, the spokeswoman said the application for the historic designation will expire June 2, 2021. SAN ANTONIO A San Antonio homeowner has filed an application with the Office of Historic Preservation to designate 498 parcels of a historic West Side neighborhood to be part of the proposed Buena Vista Historic District. The district would stretch east to west from Brazos to Zarzamora, and north to south from Buena Vista to Cesar Chavez. Three virtual public meetings will be held on Aug. 7 at 3 p.m. , Aug. 19 at 10 a.m. and Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. to discuss the proposed historic district.
