Two vehicles exploded on Saturday following a wreck on the South Side, according to San Antonio police.

A man and child suffered burns in the fire, while a woman was treated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters say they found her hanging out a second-floor window.

Speeding vehicles is an issue Viagran says has been plaguing the area for years now and keeping people up at night, too. “Is it making the road from four lanes, two lanes on each side, to just one lane on each side with the center turn lane? Vigaran said depending on the chosen course of action following community input and traffic evaluations, there could be physical changes to this stretch of Commercial Avenue as early as this summer.

SAN ANTONIO – An abandoned home was destroyed by a massive fire early Thursday morning, San Antonio firefighters said. The fire was called in around 4 a.m. in the 3700 block of Commercial Avenue, not far from Gillette Boulevard on the city’s South Side. Firefighters said they arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. They say the structure is a total loss. Fire officials said no one was inside the home at the time of the fire and that no firefighters were injured.

SAN ANTONIO Two San Antonio police officers were handed indefinite suspensions after using excessive force on a handcuffed suspect who was not resisting arrest, according to disciplinary records. Officers Michael Brewer and Andre Vargas were both fired for the incident that occurred on Nov. 26, 2019, according to the suspension records. The officers responded to a disturbance call at Commercial Avenue and Grosvenor Boulevard, where they arrested a man. Although the man appeared to provide no resistance, administrators said Brewer caused unnecessary physical violence when he placed he left knee on the mans neck, according to the document. Minneapolis police and other departments across the country have explicitly banned that type of restraint since Floyds death made national headlines.
