Both businesses that were targeted have cell phones for sale, and had broken windows as a result of the crimes. A few minutes later, they had a similar call regarding a Spectrum store, located about five miles away in the 3100 block of SE Military. However, like the Cricket store, Spectrum also sells cell phones, according to a sign on its window. Police used their helicopter to search the neighborhoods near the stores but they did not find the burglars.

Police said unknown suspects (pictured), walked into the store at 11643 SE Loop 410 on Tuesday just before 5 p.m., stole multiple items and threatened an employee with a handgun. Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-7867.

According to police, the suspect walked into the store and motioned to the clerk to stay quiet by placing a finger to his lips. Anyone with any knowledge of the incident is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP. Tips can also be texted to CRIMES (274637) or by visiting the Crime Stoppers website. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
