SAN ANTONIO – The driver of a black pickup lost control Tuesday afternoon while allegedly fleeing from Texas DPS troopers, crashing into a home on the city’s Northwest Side. Orlando Moreno said the incident began when a trooper initiated a traffic stop near Culebra and I-10 for speeding. The driver then exceeded speeds of 100 mph while attempting to evade the trooper, Moreno said. The driver, who is a 19-year-old man was taken to the hospital, where he is expected to survive. Moreno said it’s unclear why the driver was speeding.

SAN ANTONIO – A 37-year-old driver was hospitalized after he crashed his vehicle into a guardrail and went airborne, plummeting into a South Side embankment late Monday night, San Antonio police said. The crash happened around 8:40 p.m. in the 12300 block of Southwest Loop 410, between Somerset Road and Palo Alto Road. That’s when, police say, the driver overcorrected to the right, lost control of the vehicle across two lanes of the highway and struck another metal guardrail. SAPD said the vehicle went airborne over the guardrail and crashed through some trees before finally tumbling in Leon Creek and coming to a rest in an embankment. SAPD did not say exactly why the driver lost control.

SAN ANTONIO – A male driver was detained after he crashed his vehicle into a South Side bar late Sunday night, San Antonio police said. According to police, the man drove his vehicle through a brick wall and into the bar. Neither the male driver nor a female passenger inside the car was injured. The San Antonio Police Department and the San Antonio Fire Department both answered the call. The male driver was detained by officers on suspicion of DWI, police said.

The crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Rogers Road, not far from Wiseman Boulevard and Highway 151. According to police, the driver lost control of their vehicle and rolled it over, pinning her inside. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all answered the call. Police did not say why the driver lost control and crashed.

The man, whose name has not been released yet, was in his 20s, according to San Antonio police. One accident investigator told KSAT he suspects the driver may not have noticed the construction barrels right away as he headed north on Wetmore Road near Maverick Creek shortly before 3 a.m. Although police did not identify him, they say the driver lived in the area. Police shut down Wetmore Road in both directions, between Wurzbach Parkway and Ridge Country, for about two hours while they conducted their investigation.

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas – A female driver has been arrested after she led deputies on a high-speed vehicle chase from Loop 410 into Schertz overnight, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said Friday. The incident began around 2:30 a.m. near San Pedro Avenue and Loop 410. According to the sheriff’s office, the woman sped off after deputies first tried to pull the vehicle over. The BCSO said the female driver and a male passenger led deputies from Loop 410 all the way to 1st Street and Zuehl Street in a neighborhood in Schertz. The female driver was taken into custody on charges of reckless driving, speeding and evading arrest, BCSO said.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for a driver who they say crashed a pickup truck into a sedan and fled late Wednesday night. The crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Fredericksburg Road near De Chantle Road on the city’s Northwest Side. According to police, the male driver was turning from Fredericksburg Road when he crashed the black Ford F-150 into a gray Hyundai Accent while turning on a flashing yellow arrow. Police said the driver of the truck fled on foot towards Gardina Street and was not located. When found, the missing driver will be charged with felony failure to stop and render aid, police said.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. at the intersection of Vanley Drive and Culebra Road on the city’s West Side. According to police, a large pickup truck collided with a utility pole, breaking it completely off the base. SAN ANTONIO – A 23-year-old man is dead and another man is being questioned by authorities after a shooting broke out in a parking lot on the Southwest Side, according to San Antonio police. Police said two vehicles were traveling southbound down Whitewood Street when the driver of a black vehicle turned into a parking lot. The driver of the Mustang, the 23-year-old man, cut off the driver of the black vehicle, got out of his car and starting shooting, according to police. The driver of the black vehicle got out of his car and returned fire, officials said. The driver of the black vehicle took off; however, he later called and notified authorities of the incident.

LEON VALLEY, Texas – Leon Valley police say an officer shot and wounded a driver who intentionally ran over another officer with his car early Monday morning. According to Leon Valley’s Chief of Police Joseph Salvaggio, the officers believe the man was driving while intoxicated and pulled over his car. He says soon after the driver refused to cooperate and it wasn’t long before things turned especially violent. The door came open and then he intentionally reversed it and ran over the officer.”A second officer fired the shots that hit the man, Salvaggio said. As of early Monday morning, police had not released the names of the officer or the suspect.

SAN ANTONIO – The driver who was killed in a rollover crash on the city’s Northeast Side early Monday has been identified. The victim was identified Wednesday by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office as Samuel Valdez, 40. According to police, Valdez was speeding on Loop 410 when he lost control of his vehicle and struck the center divider, causing the vehicle to roll multiple times across the freeway near Nacogdoches Road. Valdez was ejected from the vehicle, police said. He was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where he died.

That driver then ran a red light at Hunt Lane and t-boned the driver of a mini van at the intersection, police said. The mini van then slammed into a pick up truck. Police said the driver of the mini van was rescued by the jaws of life and taken to University Hospital in serious condition.

SAN ANTONIO – A portion of Loop 1604 on the Far West Side remains closed Thursday morning after a driver crashed and rolled over his gravel truck overnight. San Antonio police say the driver wrecked his truck along the southbound lanes of Loop 1604 near Shaenfield Road around 1 a.m. Thursday, and the truck then caught fire. The southbound lanes of Loop 1604 between Shaenfield Road and New Guilbeau Road are closed due to the crash, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. According to police, the driver was in a white Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle and was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of I-10 when they struck the center concrete divider between the northbound and southbound lanes. Police said the SUV continued northbound and crashed into a concrete divider set up in a construction zone just before flipping and catching fire. The driver was ejected from the SUV during the crash, police said. Emergency crews attempted life-saving measures, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
