The Ecumenical Center, a trauma-informed organization with specialized counselors, will not have its contract renewed past April 2024 to run the Uvalde Together Resiliency Center.
The Uvalde County Commissioners Court voted to not renew their contract with the Ecumenical Center, which has provided counseling services to the community after the Robb Elementary shooting in May 2022.
Teams from The Ecumenical Center for Education, Counseling and Health are heading to El Paso to provide on-site services following the recent shooting.
The Uvalde Resiliency Center was established almost immediately following the horrific events that happened at Robb Elementary, being temporarily set up at the Uvalde County Fairplex.
They’ve been in Uvalde since it happened -- a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School, which left the small town torn apart by grief, anger, uncertainty and suspicion.
The Uvalde Together Resiliency Center opened as a place for the community to get the resources they need as they move through the Robb Elementary tragedy.
