Hawaii's congressional representatives say the nation’s disaster relief fund needs to be replenished so the U.S. government can continue to help survivors of Maui’s deadly wildfires and other disasters around the country.

U.S. Sen. Mazie Hirono and Hawaii's incumbent congressional representatives have won their state Democratic Party primary races.

Voting concludes Saturday in Hawaii’s state primaries, where candidates for Congress and the Legislature will compete for their parties’ nominations.

Many people on the Big Island of Hawaii are bracing for major upheaval if lava from Mauna Loa volcano blocks the quickest route connecting two sides of the island.

Lt. Gov. Josh Green is the Democratic Party’s candidate to be Hawaii’s next governor.
