The Uvalde CISD board has approved the schematic renderings for the new elementary school as recommended by the Uvalde CISD Community Advisory Committee.

Uvalde’s very own Pizza Hut is donating over 1,400 pizzas during the month of September for elementary students.

An elementary school in Somerset ISD was named among the five finalists for the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Founders’ Award — and it was the only Texas school to make the list.

SAN ANTONIO – The family of a teacher’s assistant who was killed in a hit-and-run crash is pleading with the community to come forward with information that could lead to an arrest. “She was going to get something to eat with her friend,” said Jenille Hernandez, Guel’s sister. “She was very dedicated to what she was doing,” Frank Hernandez said. “She took her school work very seriously.”“She wanted to influence little kids and help them to stay positive in life always,” Jenille Hernandez said. “Everybody makes mistakes, but we also have to own up to those mistakes,” Frank Hernandez said.
