Firefighters said they arrived to find flames coming from the second level of the two-story home. Initial reports were that a child was trapped inside, but when they arrived everyone including the pets had made it safely out, fire officials said. The Bexar-Bulverde Volunteer Fire Department said they received help from surrounding fire departments including Shavano Park, Camp Bullis, and Spring Branch. A family member told KSAT the family who lived at the home are staying with a relative.

The crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. in the 18700 block of Stone Oak Parkway on the city’s far North Side. According to police, a black sedan collided head-on with a pickup truck that then burst into flames. Police said the woman driving the black sedan has been detained for a possible DWI. The San Antonio Police Department, the San Antonio Fire Department, and EMS all answered the call.
