Cody Lee Canfield, 33, was arrested Monday and charged for the incident involving a 68-year-old woman who was gardening last Monday. The victim provided a license plate number and video she captured of the incident to police, leading to Canfield’s arrest. AdHernandez said Bexar County deputies who were assisting with this case discovered Canfield after he wrecked his vehicle near his home. “I know there are at least three different cases multiple agencies are dealing with,” Hernandez said.

Officer Erik Rodriguez, a 14-year veteran of SAPD, faces a felony charge of misuse of official information, according to an SAPD press release. I am bitterly disappointed and frustrated that an SAPD Officer would violate his oath of office and the public trust by placing a survivor in jeopardy. The investigation of the officer and the abuser will continue, and additional charges may be filed.”Rodriguez is the first SAPD officer arrested this year.
