The 2023-2024 season for Texas State University running back Ismail Mahdi was remarkable, to say the least.

Texas State is boosting its NIL efforts with the launch of a new collective called ‘Maroon & Golden.’

Linebacker Brian Holloway returned two interceptions for touchdowns, Jahmyl Jeter ran for three scores, and Texas State beat Rice 45-21 in the First Responder Bowl on Tuesday in the Bobcats’ first bowl appearance as an FBS program.

Texas State will make its bowl debut since becoming an FBS school against Rice in the First Responder Bowl. It’s the first meeting between the schools since the Owls won in 1987.

Seth Henigan passed for 284 yards and three touchdowns and Jeyvon Ducker ran for two touchdowns as Memphis beat Utah State 38-10 in the First Responder Bowl.
