San Antonio restaurant facing continual struggles after food truck is reported stolen on Christmas Day
SAN ANTONIO โ The owners of Fat Tummy Empanadas have kept bellies full and people smiling for the last three years. Co-owner Norah Saleh said the restaurant, located on South Murry and West Commerce, gained popularity after being featured on the Food Network. Saleh said they have been able to get by with curbside order, but she credits their food truck for keeping business alive. โLike every other owner, small business owner, itโs the fear that youโre going to have to close down,โ Saleh said. Saleh said the food truck was a way to get out into the community, but now she hopes the community will come to them.

SAN ANTONIO โ The restaurant owner has been featured on Mike Roweโs โReturning the Favorโ and the Food Networkโs โDiners Drive-ins and Dives,โ and while the food is a taste of New Orleans at Ma Harperโs Creole Kitchen, she is more than that, she is a San Antonian who wants to be a mother to those who donโt have anything to give back. โWhat are you giving?โ she asks during an interview after explaining why she gives back. In November she helped to feed dozens of families, providing a meal for these families who have been struggling during this pandemic. This month she teamed up with Christian Assistance Ministry to feed 200 people and provide them with throws and socks. Discovery's reality-heavy streaming service launches in Jan.
Discovery is joining the increasingly crowded streaming fray with its own reality-focused service Discovery Plus that will include shows from the Food Network, HGTV, TLC and its other networks. By comparison, the ad-free Disney Plus costs $7 a month and Netflix' most popular plan costs $14 a month. Discovery CEO David Zaslav first announced the streaming service in late 2019, but did not provide details until now. Discovery Plus joins a slew of new streaming services started to challenge traditional TV providers and dominant streaming services like Hulu and Netflix over the past year, including Disney Plus, Apple TV Plus, HBO Max and Comcastโs Peacock service. The service will role out in 25 countries in 2021 including Italy, Spain, U.K. and Ireland as well as India.
