Governor Greg Abbott made the trip south to Boerne to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new Catholic school.

Festivities are expected to start around 5 p.m., and organizers are encouraging the public to line up along Main Street.

The new mayor-elect of Boerne is a political newcomer in every sense of the word. Despite not running a campaign, Frank Ritchie overwhelmingly defeated a long-time city council representative.

Frank Ritchie, a political newcomer, easily beat longtime City Councilwoman Nina Woolard in the May 6 election — 76% to 24%.
