Some train tracks on the city’s West Side have been causing traffic issues for years. City officials have been promising an overpass for years, and now, they say it’s finally going to happen.

San Antonio firefighters are trying to find the cause of a fire that started Monday morning at an ice house on the West Side.

The City of San Antonio and the Texas Department of Transportation are asking the public to weigh in on a project to fix a traffic trouble spot with the construction of a bridge on the South Side near the train tracks by South Zarzamora and Frio City Road.

An anonymous 911 call early Friday morning led San Antonio police to the city’s West Side where a man had been shot and critically wounded.

A drive-by shooting on the city’s West Side left one person injured Monday afternoon.

A man and a woman safely escaped a house fire early Tuesday morning, the San Antonio Fire Department said.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are investigating after two homes on the city’s Southwest Side were hit by gunfire early Monday morning. According to police, the two homes were hit during a drive-by shooting and were occupied by a total of 11 people. Police said a bullet pierced a bedroom wall where a woman and her child slept, but that no one was injured. Investigators say officers were watching the area after someone also fired gunshots yesterday, but that the officers had to leave the area to go to an assault call nearby just before it happened. A parked car was also hit by the gunfire either today or yesterday, police said.
