Officer Chris Ramos, a spokesperson for SAPD, said the man was hit just before 10 a.m. near a drainage ditch at the intersection of Southeast Military Drive and Goliad Road. The city employee was at the location to check a gauge and clear the water drainage area. As the employee began to drive off, he accidentally ran over the man, who was covered in debris and clothing, Ramos said.

The crash happened around 10 p.m. Thursday at Pecan Valley Drive and Goliad Road. Witnesses told police the man had just left a convenience store in the area and was crossing the street when a dark-colored SUV hit him. They say the vehicle was last seen heading north on Goliad Road. As of early Friday morning, the Bexar County Medical Examinerās Office had not released the name of the man who was killed.

According to police, three homeless men all stayed together overnight at drainage ditch next to the tobacco shop. After the victim was stabbed, he walked half a mile to the Spanish Creek apartments on Utopia Street, where his girlfriend lives. After interviewing the girlfriend, police found one of the homeless men at a nearby gas station on Goliad and Southeast Military Drive. He told police he was a witness and that the three of them camped together overnight by the tobacco shop when the victim was stabbed.

Olga Balderas De Anda was driving a green 2003 Toyota Rav4 when her vehicle was struck at 5:45 p.m. Friday at 2800 Goliad Road, not far from Southeast Military Drive. Police said De Anda was turning from a parking lot onto southbound Goliad Road when a man in a stolen gray 2020 Toyota Rav4 entered the intersection at a high rate of speed. The gray Rav4 pushed De Andas vehicle and it then crashed into a 2019 Ford Mustang that was stopped at the red light.
