San Antonio police are investigating after a 58-year-old man was found dead on the city’s Southeast Side.

Juanita Diaz carries a missing person's magnet in the back of her truck with her mother's picture on it, hoping it will trigger tips to help find her whereabouts. This weekend, she said a woman was seen ripping the magnet off her truck. Diaz doesn't think it's a threat.

San Antonio firefighters are responding to a fire at a pawn shop on the South Side on Friday morning.

SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead after he was run over by a city vehicle on the Southeast Side Thursday morning, according to San Antonio police. Officer Chris Ramos, a spokesperson for SAPD, said the man was hit just before 10 a.m. near a drainage ditch at the intersection of Southeast Military Drive and Goliad Road. The city employee was at the location to check a gauge and clear the water drainage area. As the employee began to drive off, he accidentally ran over the man, who was covered in debris and clothing, Ramos said.

After the crash, Armstrong pulled into the parking lot of a Speedy Cash and assessed damage to his truck, police said. Investigators said those two drivers also assessed damage to the truck and walked to the crash scene to help the victim, but Armstrong got back inside his truck and fled on Goliad Road. The affidavit states an anonymous caller contacted the police after seeing the crash in local news. The caller said the driver “thought he hit a cart in the roadway," the affidavit states. He told detectives that he was waiting for police “to knock on the door since the crash date,” the affidavit states.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are trying to find a driver who hit and killed a 75-year-old man as he crossed a street on the city’s Southeast Side. The crash happened around 10 p.m. Thursday at Pecan Valley Drive and Goliad Road. Witnesses told police the man had just left a convenience store in the area and was crossing the street when a dark-colored SUV hit him. They say the vehicle was last seen heading north on Goliad Road. As of early Friday morning, the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office had not released the name of the man who was killed.

SAN ANTONIO – A homeless man was stabbed in the neck near a Planet K Tobacco shop on the city’s South Side early Wednesday morning, the San Antonio Police Department said. According to police, three homeless men all stayed together overnight at drainage ditch next to the tobacco shop. After the victim was stabbed, he walked half a mile to the Spanish Creek apartments on Utopia Street, where his girlfriend lives. After interviewing the girlfriend, police found one of the homeless men at a nearby gas station on Goliad and Southeast Military Drive. He told police he was a witness and that the three of them camped together overnight by the tobacco shop when the victim was stabbed.

SAN ANTONIO San Antonio police have identified a 53-year-old woman who was killed in a crash with an erratic driver last week on the Southeast Side. Olga Balderas De Anda was driving a green 2003 Toyota Rav4 when her vehicle was struck at 5:45 p.m. Friday at 2800 Goliad Road, not far from Southeast Military Drive. Police said De Anda was turning from a parking lot onto southbound Goliad Road when a man in a stolen gray 2020 Toyota Rav4 entered the intersection at a high rate of speed. The gray Rav4 pushed De Andas vehicle and it then crashed into a 2019 Ford Mustang that was stopped at the red light. SAN ANTONIO A woman is critically injured and hospitalized after a crash on the Southeast Side, according to San Antonio police. The crash happened around 6 p.m. Friday on Goliad Road and SE Military Drive. Police said a man stole a vehicle and drove it down the road to Goliad Road and hit two cars. The woman was critically injured and taken to the hospital. The man was arrested, and police said they suspect he was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

The San Antonio police are looking for a suspect who was involved in an aggravated robbery. Authorities said the suspect was stealing merchandise as an employee tried to stop them. The suspect then pulled out a weapon and threatened the employee, according to police. The suspect fled the scene in a car that had damage to the front windshield, according to authorities. Crime Stoppers may pay $5,000 for information which leads to the arrest of the people involved in the crime.
