There are many places you can cool off beyond just your average pool. Texas is filled with waterfalls, rivers, lakes and various swimming holes where you can beat the heat.

Hamilton Pool in Travis County, which is known for its 50-foot waterfall which cascades into a natural swimming hole, is open for reservations through May. Reservations for dates in June 2023 and beyond are not available yet.

If you’ve ever wanted to buy real estate on Enchanted Rock or in Hamilton Pool from the comfort of your couch, this may be the board game for you.

SAN ANTONIO – The Hill Country is full of hidden places to swim and cool off, including 10 unexpected watering holes within driving distance of San Antonio that would be great for a day trip. The first two, Jacob’s Well Natural Area and Blue Hole, are in Wimberley about an hour’s drive from downtown San Antonio. Blanco State Park is a quick trip out of San Antonio, just an hour north of the city. Guadalupe River State Park is less than an hour from San Antonio.
