Dresden Bounds, a sophomore at Pieper High School, is back at the UIL Class 5A State Girls Golf Tournament as both an individual competitor and with her team for the first time in program history.

On Friday morning at Pieper High School, the drum line summoned students from their classrooms, turning the cafeteria into a roaring coliseum of support.

Every spring since 2021, Davenport has been represented one way or another in the UIL state golf tournament, and 2025 will be no different.

When people talk about dynasties in sports, they often refer to a team about to win three straight titles. For the Alamo Heights girls’ golf program, the opportunity to become a dynasty is upon them.

Led by Julia Vollmer's third-place performance in the individual standings, the Alamo Heights girls golf team secured the first state title in program history, claiming the UIL Class 5A state championship with a combined score of 609.
