SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police are searching for a driver who hit and killed a man on the city’s Northwest Side late Thursday night. The crash happened around 11 p.m. in the 1220 block of Bandera Road, not far from West Woodlawn Avenue and Hillcrest Drive. Police said the pickup truck struck Cameron in the outside lane closest to the curb edge and then the driver continued westbound on Bandera Road away from the scene. The driver of the Dodge Ram made no effort to stop and render aid, police said. Authorities said when the driver of the Dodge Ram is found, they will face a charge of failure to stop and render aid, resulting in a death.

SAN ANTONIO – The family of a teacher’s assistant who was killed in a hit-and-run crash is pleading with the community to come forward with information that could lead to an arrest. “She was going to get something to eat with her friend,” said Jenille Hernandez, Guel’s sister. “She was very dedicated to what she was doing,” Frank Hernandez said. “She took her school work very seriously.”“She wanted to influence little kids and help them to stay positive in life always,” Jenille Hernandez said. “Everybody makes mistakes, but we also have to own up to those mistakes,” Frank Hernandez said.

Maria De La Luz Guerrero-Reyna, Reyna’s wife, said she talked to him for the last time before the fatal car crash. The Honda SUV crashed into a guardrail, and the driver walked away from the scene. SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified a 65-year-old man that was killed in a South Side hit-and-run on Wednesday evening. Horacio Ramirez was fatally struck by a pickup truck as he tried to cross the street in the 200 block of Moursund Boulevard around 8 p.m. Witnesses told police the driver of a white pickup truck was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit Ramirez and then continued driving east on Ashley Road. Ramirez was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center by EMS where he later died, police said. Officers are still looking for the driver of the truck, and if found, the driver will face charges of failing to stop and render aid, police said.

SAN ANTONIO – Officers are looking for a driver who hit and killed a man with their truck on the South Side Wednesday evening, San Antonio police said. Witnesses say the driver of the white pick-up was traveling at a high rate of speed. They said they saw the driver hit the man and continue driving on Moursund and then head east on Ashley Road. The man had no ID and has not yet been identified, police said. Officers are still looking for the driver of the pickup truck.

SAN MARCOS – San Marcos police reported Tuesday that they have arrested a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run that happened June 1. SMPD credits the apprehension of Brenda Vasquez Hurtado, 41, to the volume of citizen tips related to the deadly crash. Hurtado surrendered herself to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Monday after Justice of the Peace Magie Moreno issued an arrest warrant. Hurtado was identified as the driver of a Ford Explorer Sport Trac that struck Dwight Garrett Thomas on Post Road on June 1. A tip from a citizen who recognized the pickup from a police news release led to Alonzo’s arrest. Alonzo was charged and released on a $10,000 bond.

SAN ANTONIO – Alvin White, 28, was hit by a car and died on Nov. 12, 2019, and the San Antonio Police Department are asking the public to help find the driver who did not stop after the accident. Police said White was found dead just before midnight in front of a Super 7 Inn on IH-10 East Access Road in San Antonio. COMAL COUNTY, Texas – Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are seeking help in finding a hit-and-run driver blamed for a pedestrian’s death in Comal County. A 32-year-old man was walking along Highway 281 North south of Rebecca Creek around 9 p.m. Thursday when he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle, officials said. SAN ANTONIO – A friend of a man who was injured in a hit-and-run crash on the South Side is hopeful that surveillance video will yield some clues about the driver who fled the scene. “They have cameras here and they work.”Several hours after the early Tuesday crash, Marroquin returned to the parking lot of an E-Z Wash laundry on West Southcross near Zarzamora, where the crash occurred. Marroquin said her friend, the injured man, initially wandered down the street to her home. Marroquin said he told her that he initially had exchanged words with a man who was doing his laundry at the E-Z Wash. At that time, he said that he had not yet viewed the surveillance video, but he did plan to make it available to investigators.
