Scott Fitzgerald, R-Wis. Another possible point of contention is provisions easing standards for prosecution of law enforcement officers accused of wrongdoing.

Linick’s firing was one of several dismissals by Trump of people charged with preventing fraud and abuse in the government. The IG concluded that the arms sales did not violate the letter of the law but said the department did not take enough action to limit civilian casualties.
