Tharp said domestic violence arrests were at 66% last year compared to 53% in 2019. Comal County Sheriff Mark Reynolds agrees with Tharp about whatās triggering the spike in crimes. āThe stress brought on by the epidemic, itself, and the increased usage of drugs and alcohol brought forth a number of domestic violence cases last yearā, Reynolds said.

Despite his charges being dismissed, Crawford lost his job and is currently unemployed, according to his attorney.
