Salvaggio said the officers suspected that Travis Ozuniga was driving drunk when they tried to stop him around 2:45 a.m. on Peachtree Street near Huebner Road. One of the officers asked Ozuniga to step out of the car more than 30 times to test him for suspected intoxication but he repeatedly refused, Salvaggio said. The injured officer was taken to the hospital, where he was treated and released. Ozuniga is charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer by deadly weapon, but more charges are pending, Salvaggio said.

The police said there were stolen tools for ground maintenance, a 2002 Ford F-150 white truck with the school’s decal on the side and a utility trailer. An online look at the reports taken between March to April 2020 and compared to the same time in 2019 shows an increase in motor vehicle thefts, commercial burglaries, and robberies.
