Exactly one week after declining a plea deal for a 20 years prison sentence, a Bexar County jury sentenced Sasha Skare to 55 years in prison on Friday for killing a San Antonio rapper in 2021.

Sasha Skare, who is accused of fatally shooting a San Antonio rapper in January 2021, took the stand in her own defense in her murder trial.

Accused murderer Sasha Skare was in a Bexar County courtroom Tuesday for the first day of her trial.

After just over two hours of deliberations, a Bexar County jury on Thursday found Sasha Skare guilty of murder.

An aspiring rapper known as Sasha Skare was indicted earlier this week on a murder charge, according to the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office.

SAN ANTONIO – A 21-year-old woman is behind bars and charged with murder after San Antonio police say she shot and killed a man at an upscale La Cantera apartment last week. The shooting happened at The Towers complex in the 16700 block of La Cantera Parkway. According to the arrest affidavit, Skare was in a relationship with Derouen at the time of his death. However, according to the affidavit, the number did not actually belong to his wife, and the woman had a different voice. Martell Derouen, also know by his stage name as Kordone, was considered a one-of-a-kind, not only for his lyrical talents but also for his unusually humble personality. SAN ANTONIO – A woman being sought by San Antonio police on a murder charge is also suspected of playing a role in a deadly 2019 shooting that occurred in Austin. San Antonio police confirmed Sasha Skare, 21, is the murder suspect wanted in connection with the fatal shooting death of Martell Derouen, a rapper who goes by the name Kardone. Skare was indicted by a grand jury, meaning she was formally charged, on Feb. 3, 2020, court records showed. SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police have identified a man who was shot and killed in his Northwest Side apartment and they’ve also named the suspect wanted for the crime. Martell Derouen, 34, was found shot to death on Tuesday inside his apartment at The Towers complex in the 16700 block of La Cantera Parkway by officers who were conducting a welfare check. A woman called police to report that she had not heard from the man in several days. SAPD officials have named a suspect in the crime. Sasha Skare, 21, is wanted on an active murder warrant.
