It’s a stretch of McCullough Avenue that’s tough for Carol Falcon to drive by -- but for the first time in four years, she returned to the spot she once called home.

After nearly a year-long closure, construction crews will finally begin the process of reopening the Brooklyn Avenue and McCullough Avenue exit on southbound Interstate 35 near downtown.

Two sections of lower Broadway will be closed for roadway reconstruction beginning Wednesday thru March.

CASTLE Hills, Texas – Castle Hills police have arrested a woman who they say led them on a vehicle chase in a stolen car early Tuesday morning. According to police, officers were watching an apartment for several days after receiving calls about possible drug trafficking. Police said the woman had left the apartment and got into a previously stolen vehicle. That’s when, police said, after noticing officers she led them on a chase down McCullough Avenue, where she almost wrecked on a baseball field. Police said she led officers back to Basse Road just before shredding her tire near West Avenue.

SAN ANTONIO A 17-year-old boy was killed in a shooting outside a home on the North Side early Friday, according to San Antonio police. The shooting occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the 7600 block of McCullough Avenue, near Oblate Drive. According to a police sergeant at the scene, the teen walked out of the house to meet with three friends, but one of them ambushed him and shot him in the head. Police said the boys girlfriend was outside the home when the shooting happened. SAPD officers said a teenager was fatally shot around 4:30 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2020, in the 7600 block of McCullough Avenue, near Oblate Drive.

SAN ANTONIO – Two victims of a major, multi-vehicle crash on the city’s North Side last week have been identified. Briana Sorrell, 15, and James Edward Ewell III, 20, were killed in the crash, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office. The crash is believed to have stemmed from a race between two vehicles, traveling south on McCullough, according to San Antonio police. The vehicle traveling from Millwood and crossing through McCullough was clipped by one of the vehicles racing, officials said.
