A year later, health care workers have learned more about COVID-19, but one thing remains the same. Mohan said therapeutics that have worked for COVID-19 patients include the antiviral drug Remdesivir, convalescent plasma and steroids.

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Fire Department is asking residents not to dial 911 to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine. Joe Arrington, a public information officer with the San Antonio Fire Department, says at-home COVID-19 vaccinations cannot be scheduled by calling, emailing or online scheduling methods. “The at-home vaccinations for our home-bound population, which was mentioned in tonight’s daily briefing with Mayor Nirenberg and Judge Wolff, are pre-scheduled based off of lists provided by strategic local partners and cannot be scheduled by calling, emailing, or online,” Arrington said in a statement to KSAT. SAN ANTONIO – Due to a delay in the city of San Antonio receiving a shipment of the Pfizer vaccine, scheduled appointments at the Alamodome for Monday, Jan. 18 will be pushed back, according to city leaders. The shipment has been delayed from the manufacturer, which is Pfizer. We ask for your continued patience.”The date of the rescheduled appointments could be subject to change, depending on when the delayed shipment is received, according to city officials. For now, all other appointments that are scheduled for later in the week are not affected by the delay. SAN ANTONIO – Fearing that the Thanksgiving weekend will end in a huge spike of COVID-19 cases, Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff and San Antonio Mayor Nirenberg have imposed a curfew, beginning from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting Thursday, Nov. 26, and extending through Monday, Nov. 30. People will not be allowed to gather outside of their household during the imposed curfew, except for when seeking services from a business. The establishments may continue to offer drive-thru, curbside or takeout service after 10 p.m. and resume dine-in service at 6 a.m. during the curfew period. The amended public health order strongly encourages dine-in food service providers to only offer curbside or takeout until the curfew expires on Monday.

SAN ANTONIO San Antonio officials announced 59 new COVID-19 cases in Bexar County on Sunday. Bexar Countys cumulative total went up to 44,052 due to the additional cases. Officials reported 612 Bexar County residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19, up from 598 on Saturday. As of Sunday, 18% of staffed hospital beds and 56% of ventilators are available in Bexar County. Officials reported 598 Bexar County residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19, down from 651 on Friday. As of Saturday, 18% of staffed hospital beds and 56% of ventilators are available in Bexar County. SAN ANTONIO COVID-19 related deaths are continuing to climb in San Antonio and Bexar County. On Sunday, Bexar Countys COVID-19 case load increased as the city announced 252 additional COVID-19 cases. The additional cases bring Bexar Countys cumulative total to 42,873 cases since the start of the pandemic. However, 13 more COVID-19 deaths were confirmed, bringing the death toll to 445. Numbers released by city officials indicate that 15% of staffed hospital beds and 52% of ventilators are available in Bexar County.

SAN ANTONIO COVID-19 related hospitalizations are still declining, although the case count continues to rise in San Antonio and Bexar County. Mayor Nirenberg announced during the daily COVID-19 briefing that there are now 40,803 COVID-19 cases in the area and two additional deaths were also announced. Though the case count continues to grow, hospitalizations have continued declining. As of Friday, 15% of staffed hospital beds and 53% of ventilators are available in Bexar County. SAN ANTONIO The total number of COVID-19 cases in San Antonio and Bexar County continues to rise rapidly with 6,344 cases reported Saturday. According to the city of San Antonios website, 382 more COVID-19 cases were reported with no new deaths. There are 27% of staffed hospital beds and 77% of ventilators still available. SAN ANTONIO A recent report from CNBC has named the San Antonio metropolitan area as one of the top five U.S. hotspots for COVID-19 cases as numbers and hospitalizations rose exponentially in the area over the past week. According to a tweet from CNBC reporter Meg Tirrell, the San Antonio metro area had some of the fastest COVID-19 case growth in the nation last week. Austin, Texas, also made the list and was ranked as the fifth hotspot for COVID-19 cases. Metro areas w fastest case growth in last week:1. San Antonio city leaders reported 5,962 total COVID-19 cases and 96 total deaths in Bexar County, as of Friday, an increase of 412 new cases from Thursday.

SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. has announced a phased reopening (with capacity limitations) of SeaWorld San Antonio set for Friday, June 19. Aquatica San Antonio opened to the public June 6. The reopening of the park will include enhanced health and safety protocols for cleaning and sanitizing, physical distancing, face-covering requirements and temperature screening. To help manage the capacity to ensure physical distancing within the parks, all parks will require advance online reservations. According to SeaWorld San Antonio, the phased reopening plan was approved by the state of Texas.

SAN ANTONIO On Monday evening, nine new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Bexar County during the nightly COVID-19 update, bringing the total to 2,839. Nirenberg said 93 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized with 39 in the intensive care unit. There was a slight decline in ventilator numbers as 20 patients were reported to be intubated, San Antonio Mayor Nirenberg said.
