SAN ANTONIO – A man is hospitalized after he was shot near the Pearl Brewery overnight, according to San Antonio police. Police said the man, 47, walked up to an off-duty police officer and asked for help. The man had a gunshot wound to his chest and claimed that two men walked up and attempted to rob him, according to officials. When he refused to give up his belongings to the suspects, he was shot in the chest, police said.

The hotel will install a historic Pearl Brewery truck near its pool Monday, Feb. 17, at 9 a.m. The truck will be lifted up on a crane and will be placed by the pool on the hotel’s third floor. According to Hotel Emma, the truck was restored to serve as the pool’s bar and will offer drinks, refreshments and small bites for guests. After a morning of heavy rain and thunderstorms, a flash flood warning expired and the clouds parted just in time for hundreds to line up at the entrance. Chefs served up their own unique versions of sliders, hot dogs and treats while a live band provided the entertainment. Burgers & Beer was the last of the four main events of Festival Week. All proceeds will go to the Hope for Hospitality fund which raises money for culinary scholarships, Culinaria's Urban Farm project and Chefs 4 Chefs.

Tamales are traditionally made around Christmas and las Posadas. And it is around this time each year when the Pearl Brewery clears out its parking lots to welcome tamales vendors from across the San Antonio area for its annual Tamales! This year's festival is set for noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Pearl. Last year, crowds had to brave freezing temperatures to taste the tender, juicy tamale goodness.
