Pedernales Electric Cooperative held its first board meeting since the ice storm that caused extensive outages for people in the Hill Country.

Across its entire service area, which stretches up to the edge of Fort Hood, P.E.C. reported 21,815 meters, about 5.7% of its total, were still affected by outages Friday night. In Comal County alone there were 2,250.

Thousands of residents in the Hill Country are still in the cold and dark as crews work to restore power to more areas.

The lights are slowly starting to come back on across the Hill Country, but some communities weren't so fortunate on Thursday.
