The Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak early Monday.

Police in England say two more men have been arrested in the investigation into who cut down the world-famous Sycamore Gap tree.

It may be HOT outside but there are several groovy things to look forward to this weekend, like the Perseid meteor shower, a free fruit tree giveaway, and discounted admission to the zoo.

The mornings of Aug. 11, 12, and 13 will be the best time to try and spot meteors before dawn.

Experts believe the meteor measured about two feet in diameter and weighed about one-thousand pounds.

SAN ANTONIO The Perseid meteor showers will peak this week and we should have some clear skies here in San Antonio to view them. This year, Aug. 11-12 are expected to be peak viewing nights. Some years, there are more than 60 visible meteors per hour, while this year it will be about 15-20 per hour. The Perseid meteors are actually pieces of debris from Comet Swift-Tuttle, the largest object known to repeatedly pass by Earth.
