The 2024 high school football playoffs are here and now the fun really begins. Here’s a look at some of the UIL bi-district (first-round) pairings and TAPPS first-round matchups.

Junior Keely Williams' grand slam capped an impressive 8-run explosion in the top of the 5th, as the Judson softball team rolled past O'Connor in the decisive game of their best-of-three UIL Regional Semifinal playoff series at Somerset High School on Saturday evening.

In the second round of the TAPPS baseball playoffs, Central Catholic advanced with a 2-1 victory over Katy St. John XXIII thanks to a pair of RBI singles from Damion Gonzales.

SAN ANTONIO – The Cole and Jourdanton boys arrive at Northside Sports Gym on Friday night for semifinal matchups against London and Santa Rosa for berths in the UIL Class 3A Regional Finals.

SAN ANTONIO – Trailing by two at the start of the fourth quarter, the Harlan boys basketball team took control of their third-round playoff game against Warren with an 8-0 run and hung on late to defeat their District 29-6A rivals 45-42 and advance to the Regional Semifinals.

SCHERTZ – For the first time in three years, the South San boys basketball team is heading to the playoffs after defeating both Wagner and Smithson Valley on the final day of the regular season to clinch District 27-6A’s final playoff berth.

YWLA volleyball riding high after earning program's first UIL playoff victoryPublished: November 1, 2020, 7:37 pmThis past week, the YWLA volleyball team made program history by defeating Carrizo Springs 3-1 to earn win their first UIL Class 4A Bi-District Championship. The Lady Cardinals will face Tuloso-Midway at Kenedy High School in the second round on Tuesday night at 6 p.m.

ORLANDO – For the first time since 1997, the San Antonio Spurs will not compete in the NBA playoffs. San Antonio was officially eliminated from playoff contention Thursday afternoon before they took the court for their final regular season game against the Utah Jazz. Memphis and Phoenix each played two more regular season games than San Antonio, and that made all the difference in the final calculation. As a result, the Spurs’ remarkable NBA record-tying run of 22 straight playoff appearances comes to an end. San Antonio struggled throughout the regular season to stay close to the .500 mark, but played well inside the NBA bubble.
