Police say the two men assaulted and robbed a resident as he was getting into his vehicle on Nov. 20 at the Grove apartment complex, 1150 E. River Ridge Parkway. The men then forced the resident into their vehicle and demanded that he tell them his apartment number. According to police, one of the men stole the man’s keys and entered the unit and stole various items from the apartment. The men then ordered the victim out of the vehicle and stole it.

That’s when it really started to bother me that many people take their right to vote for granted and choose not to do it. After going through the immigration process for approximately nine years, I finally became a U.S. citizen on June 13, 2019. My first chance to vote came earlier this year during the Texas primary election. From here on out, one thing is for sure: I will never take my right to vote for granted.

The residents and workers at Serenity Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care held a drive by parade led by the Live Oak Police Department. Jordan was born in 1918, the year the Spanish Flu broke out and graduated from Halandale High School in 1935. A Live Oak resident celebrated her 102nd birthday on Tuesday. Happy birthday Ozelle Jordan!
