Firefighters said upon arrival, flames were spotted on the fourth floor of the complex and residents were quickly evacuated. One apartment had significant fire damage and several apartments below the fourth floor had water damage, according to firefighters. The apartment building had 44 apartments and 31 residences affected by the fire total, SAFD said. Management staff of the apartment complex are working to relocate the residents affected and Red Cross was on standby.

It alleges Cibolo officials did not property notify residents about the proposed zoning change. The lawsuit is asking the court to declare the rezoning null and void. Cibolo council members approved the zoning in late September. The site selected by Walmart is located across from Wiederstein Elementary School and the Bentwood Ranch subdivision, and near the Falcon Ridge subdivision and Everyday Fellowship Christian Church on North Main Street.
