The Associated Press obtained access to briefings and law enforcement operations for an inside look at Operation Legend as Barr visited law enforcement officials in Detroit, Kansas City and Cleveland. In Detroit, agents circled a motel that police officials said had been a hotbed for criminal activity for years. As of Friday, there had been 125 homicides in Kansas City this year, according to police statistics. He says the increases in violent crime have been triggered by high unemployment and a lack of services to deal with untreated mental health problems.

Watt have a new long term extension in place. ESPN Insider Chris Mortensen reported Watt's deal is for $100 Million over 6 years with $51.8 million guaranteed. That makes Watt the highest paid defensive player in the league, surpassing Mario Williams' deal with the Buffalo Bills. Watt, the 2012 Defensive Player of the Year, is considered the top defensive player in the NFL and has made it clear he wanted a new extension in place while watching others from his 2011 draft class get rewarded in recent weeks. Watt of course is an exception along with receiver Andre Johnson who has had his deal reworked in the past.
