After months of training, thousands of runners hit the streets in downtown San Antonio on Sunday for the 2023 Rock 'n' Roll Marathon and Half-Marathon

It’s almost time for the biggest running event of the year in San Antonio — the 2023 Certified Piedmontese Beef Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series will return on Saturday and Sunday downtown.

San Antonio neighborhoods are preparing for thousands of runners to hit the pavement for this year’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon.

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series has released the courses for the biggest running event of the year in San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO – Update (1:30 p.m.):Officials with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon have canceled San Antonio’s event, which had been scheduled for Dec. 5-6, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. This year’s sacrifices will make our city healthier.”According to an email sent from Rock ‘n’ Roll to a participant, runners can choose from several deferral options, including free entry to next year’s race or a race in another city. Participants can also compete in the virtual Rock ‘n’ Roll race that will include a medal and T-shirt. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, Rock ‘n’ Roll has canceled certain races like those in Seattle, Atlantic City and San Diego.
