SAN ANTONIO โ This November, KSAT Community is highlighting local nonprofit, SA Youth in its โStuff-a-Stockingโ holiday drive to benefit 650 students in their Out-of-School Time program. This holiday season help bring joy and cheer to students that need it most if you are able to give back. โEvery stocking stuffed helps spread the cheer our students need right now," said Asia Ciaravino, CEO and president of SA Youth. Join us in making a childโs holiday season a little brighter." During the campaign, SA Youth also invites social media users to share their support using #SAYouthHolidayHappenings to further spread holiday happiness.
KSAT Community spotlight: SA Youthโs annual fundraiser, โChips N Salsaโ to stream live with special roaring 1920โs theme
SAN ANTONIO โ SA Youth is hosting its annual Chips N Salsa fundraising event, taking place online featuring KSAT12โฒs Mike Osterhage and his wife Bonnie Osterhage. Chips N Salsa is an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for San Antonioโs high-risk children and young adults on Friday, Oct. 2 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 pm. Nearly 30% of San Antonioโs children live below the poverty level and have no safe place to go after school. (1) $250 donation can provide one middle school student with a backpack full of school supplies and a Chromebook laptop. (1) $500 donation can provide 10 elementary school students with school supplies(1) $750 donation can provide five high school students with a backpack full of school supplies.
Shafer Serves provides SA Youth team members with A/C units
SAN ANTONIO SA Youth, a nonprofit dedicated to serving San Antonios high-risk youth and young adults, said they received A/C units donated from Shafer Services. The San Antonio non-profit provides supplies, meals and education opportunities to high-risk youth and young adults in the city. Shafer Services, a San Antonio based air-conditioning and plumbing company, started a new philanthropic program that donates A/C units and provides plumbing services to underprivileged groups. When team members at Shafer Services heard about SA Youth staff working in 90-degree temperatures, they decided to step up and help. SA Youth team members say they plan to reinvest the money they would have spent on new units back into their programs.
