Europe’s far right political parties have unofficially launched their campaign for the European Union elections in Spain with strong messages against illegal migration and the bloc’s climate policy.

While most Mexican politicians refrain from clarifying where they stand on religion, abortion and LGBTQ+ rights, former telenovela actor and right-wing activist Eduardo Verástegui prays on TikTok and claims that getting closer to God changed the course of his life.

Spain’s elections Sunday will be a battle between two leftist and two rightist parties that are teaming up to form potential coalitions.

A general election this Sunday could make Spain the latest European Union member to swing to the right.

Spain’s parliament has dismissed an attempt by the far-right Vox party to topple the governing leftist coalition by voting overwhelmingly.

The motion was rejected by 298 votes and backed only by the 52 lawmakers of Vox, which last year became the third-largest force in the 350-seat parliament. Vox leader Santiago Abascal responded by saying that Casado's position was showing PP's true colors.

Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is extending his self-quarantine out of an abundance of caution. The senator made the announcement Friday, saying although he doesn’t have any symptoms of the virus, he had a second interaction with someone that tested positive for COVID-19. “Unfortunately, last night I was informed I had a second interaction with an individual who yesterday tested positive for COVID-19. “My understanding is that Mr. Abascal tested positive for COVID-19 last night. Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, says he recently interacted with an individual that tested positive for COVID-19.
