A Fort Hood soldier who went under while trying to grab a floatation device at Stillhouse Hollow Lake over the weekend has been found dead.

BELTON, Texas U.S. Army officials said Tuesday that a Fort Hood soldier drowned at the same lake near the Texas base where another soldier's body was found last month. Francisco Gilberto Hernandezvargas, 24, was recovered Sunday after he went underwater while being pulled on an inner tube behind a motorboat on Stillhouse Hollow Lake, according to Fort Hood officials. Fort Hood officials say they are cooperating with local authorities. BELL COUNTY, Texas Authorities are searching for a missing man near Stillhouse Hollow Lake, according to the Bell County Sheriffs Department. The incident happened Saturday afternoon in the area of Dana Peak Park on Stillhouse Lake. According to Lt. Bob Reinhard, the sheriffs department was alerted that a man, while riding an inner tube behind a boat, went under the water and did not resurface. The sheriffs department and Texas Parks and Wildlife searched the area where the man was last seen; however, he has not yet been located, officials said. The search for the man will resume on Sunday morning.

BELL COUNTY, Texas A 24-year-old mans body was recovered from Stillhouse Hollow Lake after he drowned on Saturday, according to the Bell County Sheriffs Department. Texas Parks and Wildlife continued their search for the man Sunday morning in the area of Dana Peak Park on Stillhouse Lake, where witnesses last reported seeing him. However, BCSD said it will launch a death investigation to learn more about the incident. The mans identity has not yet been released, pending notification of his family. AUSTIN, Texas U.S. Army officials on Tuesday said that the body of a Fort Hood soldier was found near the Texas army base, marking the third time in a month that a Fort Hood soldiers body has been discovered. Mejhor Morta, 26, was found unresponsive July 17 in the vicinity of Stillhouse Hollow Lake, according to Fort Hood officials. Morta's awards and decorations include the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon. Then on July 1, U.S. Army officials found more human remains, which were later identified as 20-year-old missing Fort Hood soldier Pfc. Vanessa Guillen, near the Leon River in Bell County, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) east of Fort Hood.
