A man was found dead in Stillhouse Lake in Central Texas after his wife reported him missing last week, according to the Bell County Sheriff’s Office.

BELL COUNTY, Texas Authorities are searching for a missing man near Stillhouse Hollow Lake, according to the Bell County Sheriffs Department. The incident happened Saturday afternoon in the area of Dana Peak Park on Stillhouse Lake. According to Lt. Bob Reinhard, the sheriffs department was alerted that a man, while riding an inner tube behind a boat, went under the water and did not resurface. The sheriffs department and Texas Parks and Wildlife searched the area where the man was last seen; however, he has not yet been located, officials said. The search for the man will resume on Sunday morning.

Texas Parks and Wildlife continued their search for the man Sunday morning in the area of Dana Peak Park on Stillhouse Lake, where witnesses last reported seeing him. However, BCSD said it will launch a death investigation to learn more about the incident. The mans identity has not yet been released, pending notification of his family.
