One fatality was reported on Sunday, raising Sri Lanka’s death toll to 16. The Health Ministry said that 45,148 new cases raised the country's overall toll to over 7.9 million.

India's total coronavirus positive cases near 7 million with another 73,272 infections reported in the past 24 hours. The Health Ministry on Saturday put the total positive caseload at 6.97 million, second to 7.66 million infections registered in the worst-hit United States. LAVACA COUNTY, Texas A massive pressure vessel could cause some traffic delays in Lavaca and Gonzales Counties today as it makes its way to Victoria. The pressure vessel reportedly weighs about 291,000 pounds, thats more than 145 tons. Lavaca County officials warned drivers to expect delays as the vessel is transported through Lavaca County on SH 95, through Moulton to FM 3435, then to US90A at Shiner and to Gonzales County. The vessels final destination is Victoria. A pressure vessel is a container that holds gases or liquids at a pressure substantially different than the pressure outside the container.

AUSTIN, Texas Texas surpassed 500,000 confirmed coronavirus cases Tuesday as Republican Gov. He also continued to say more testing in Texas is likely after dropping off in recent weeks, a trend seen across the U.S. even as deaths mount. Texas has reported more than 1,400 new deaths over the past week, including 220 on Tuesday. The rising infection rate comes as testing in Texas has plummeted, with the seven-day average dropping below 30,000 on Tuesday for the first time since June, according to state figures. In Austin, health officials say testing has fallen off dramatically from more than 6,000 a week in July, but said the reason was a decrease in demand.

Sydney, Australias largest city, has been carrying a disproportionate burden of hotel quarantine that is currently paid for by the New South Wales state government. Victoria, to the south, has banned international arrivals after breaches of hotel quarantine in Melbourne were been blamed for Australias only widespread transmission of COVID-19. Morrison said other states are moving to charge for hotel quarantine as well given that Australia has been urging citizens for weeks to return as soon as possible. Outside Victoria, most of Australias COVID-19 cases have been detected in hotel quarantine.

But as most of the country emerges from pandemic restrictions, the virus has resumed spreading at an alarming rate in Victoria's capital, Melbourne. Australian citizens and permanent residents returning from overseas are required to spend 14 days in strict hotel quarantine. Keith Messamore was found dead in his Victoria home Nov. 21. He was last seen alive the day before. Victoria police are investigating the death as a homicide. GUADALUPE COUNTY, Texas – Authorities are looking for a man who is wanted for murder in Victoria and could be in the area. Guadalupe County Crime Stoppers are asking people to be on the lookout for 39-year-old Justin David Lopez, who is wanted in connection with the death of Isaac Ybarra. Lopez is 5 feet, 5 inches tall. Authorities say Lopez may be armed. Anyone with information is asked to call Victoria Crime Stoppers at 361-572-4200.

VICTORIA, Texas – The Victoria County Sheriff’s Office, the Victoria Office of Emergency Management and other first responders responded to the scene of a cargo aircraft that crashed, KSAT 12′s sister station, KPRC, reports. Air traffic controllers lost radar and radio contact with a single-engine Cessna 208 in the vicinity of Victoria around 8:16 p.m. Monday. The FAA says the plane was traveling from Victoria to Houston’s Bush International Airport. FAA investigators are on their way to the accident site and the National Transportation Safety Board has been notified. The Texas Department of Public Safety and the National Transportation Safety Board have been summoned to investigate the crash.

VICTORIA, Texas – Manuel Padilla Jr., U.S. Border Patrol chief for the Rio Grande Valley, who was in Victoria Friday for an event, said his 3,300 agents are on standby should the approaching migrant caravan arrive at the South Texas border. Padilla said he's heard reports that the migrants, who have been traveling through southern Mexico, plan to stage a rally in Mexico City. "We may have a better idea then," Padilla said, regarding their destination along the U.S.-Mexico border. He said as it is, the Rio Grande Valley already has seen a 113 percent increase in apprehensions of families and unaccompanied minors for fiscal year 2018. “That is what’s inciting the caravans and the large groups, is our inability that we have right now to remove people to their countries.”
