Many people across Texas and the country have reported hearing a loud boom and seeing bright fireballs streak across the sky over the last week.

AccuWeather and the Hunt Preservation Society (HPS) announced a new partnership aimed at improving severe weather preparedness and response across the Texas Hill Country, as communities continue recovering from last summer’s devastating floods.

Kendall County has applied to be the next Hill Country location to be deemed an "International Dark Sky Community."
