SAN ANTONIO – One person is dead following a massive house fire on the Northeast Side early Wednesday morning, San Antonio fire officials said. The fire was called in just before 6 a.m. in the 13800 block of Briarmeadow Street, not far from both Nacogdoches Road and Higgins Road. The person was found dead in a location where it appeared they were trying to escape, according to Woody Woodward, a public information officer for the San Antonio Fire Department. The home had a gas leak that seemed to fuel the fire, Woodward said. Stay with KSAT 12 both online and on-air for more information.
