Eric Barnhill, a special needs student at Champion High School, rushed for an 80-yard touchdown in the Chargers game against Floresville’s junior varsity. Boerne ISD posted a video of the touchdown on the district’s social media accounts on Friday morning. Thanks to Floresville ISD for this!” Boerne ISD posted on social media. The district said Coach Dale Coley, the Champion wide receiver coach, brought the idea to varsity Head Coach Keith Kaiser.

The individual who tested positive for the virus is advised to follow health guidelines and will need to undergo a quarantine, according to Boerne ISD. Parents are also aware of the positive COVID-19 case and if their student has been exposed. Boerne ISD said it is working to sanitize areas of the building occupied by the person who tested positive. Boerne ISD holds traditional graduation ceremonies

Nearly 700 graduates combined walked the stage at Boerne ISD stadium in front of their family and friends as the district hosted traditional outdoor graduations with enhanced safety and security guidelines. In the stands, the graduates family and friends were seated in groups of five per family, and were stationed 6-feet apart from surrounding families. Guests were required to hand in a completed health questionnaire prior to entering the stadium, which had over 30 hand sanitizing stations placed around the venue. Boerne ISD had additional police officers, security, nurses, ushers and staff on hand to help keep the crowds safe.

Students can drive up to the hotspots located at Champion High School, Fabra Elementary School, Boerne High School and Boerne Middle School South to utilize the Wi-Fi, according to school officials. However, when doing so, Boerne ISD officials is also reminding students to continue practicing social distancing and to follow health guidelines.
