But, that’s why the annual event is going virtual this year. Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg was originally canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic, as announced in July. The virtual Oktoberfest celebration is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Oct. 3 on the event’s website, www.oktoberfestinfbg.com. This year marks the 40th anniversary of Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg.

The family-owned orchard has been in business since the 1960s as a roadside stand and in 2018 they opened their country store. Inside the store, you’ll find an array of jams, sauces and fall favorites, such as pumpkin butter and peach cider. “It tastes great warmed up with some cinnamon sticks,” co-owner Lindsey Jenschke said. Pumpkins can be picked straight from the vine for $0.75 a pound.
