Dozens of other COVID-19 patients were seeking treatment at other Bosnian hospitals and many more were waiting in lines to see doctors at outpatient clinics. The number of new daily infections in Bosnia reached 1,700 on Thursday compared to few hundred a day only weeks ago. On Thursday, two doctors from Turkey visited the Sarajevo General hospital to offer support and their insight into treatment of COVID-19 patients.

The Pfizer vaccine had been the only one approved for use in Mexico, until Mexican regulators approved the AstraZeneca shot Monday. Mexico has pinned much of its hopes on the inexpensive, one-shot CanSino vaccine. The Mexican Social Security Institute also released more information about a doctor in northern Mexico who had such a severe allergic reaction to the Pfizer vaccine last week that she was hospitalized in intensive care. President AndrĆ©s Manuel LĆ³pez Obrador called LĆ³pez-Gatell āa good public servant.ā Mexico has nearly 1.45 million coronavirus cases and 127,757 deaths.

Bolivia has more than 64,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and more than 2,300 deaths, a toll that is overwhelming its hospitals and other infrastructure.
