According to the San Antonio Police Department, between March 18, 2018, and June 30, 2018, San Antonio police reported 35 homicides. During the same time frame in 2019, homicides decreased to 30. But during March 18 to June 30 of 2020 amid the pandemic and shutdown, the amount of homicides soared to 43. Anger, irritability, agitation, domestic violence all seems to be in increased in many populations, said San Antonio psychiatrist, Dr. Harry Croft, about the reasons for the rise in homicides.
