The figures released by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency on Saturday raised the country's total number of confirmed cases to 30,403, including 503 deaths. South Korea has so far managed to weather the pandemic without major lockdowns, relying instead on an aggressive test-and-quarantine campaign and mask-wearing. The National Health Commission recorded seven new domestically transmitted cases Saturday, including five in Tianjin and two in Shanghai. On Saturday in the state capital of Adelaide, South Australia Premier Steven Marshall said there were no fresh cases of community transmission.

The country has been experiencing a steady increase in virus infections since it relaxed its social distancing guidelines last month. South Korea added 230 more virus cases on Tuesday, raising the countryās total to 28,998 since the pandemic began, including 494 deaths. In other developments in the Asia-Pacific region:ā India's number of new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours dropped to 29,164 new infections, continuing a downturn. The city reported 3,797 new coronavirus cases and 99 fatalities in the past 24 hours, fewer than last weekās daily average of nearly 7,000 cases.
